Security in Open Multi-Application SMART CARDS

Java Card provides a framework of classes and interfaces that hides the details of the underlying smart card interface and makes it possible to load and run on the same card several applets, from different application providers with complex trust relationships. This fact opens prospects for new business applications, but the card issuer has to secure absence of malicious or faulty card applets. This project researched new approaches for securing Java Card applications. R&D participants: Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece), University of Cyprus, Athens University of Economics & Business. Funded by the Hellenic General Secretariat for Research & Technology under the Competitiveness 3rd EU Community Support Program.
