Aristotle University of Thessaloniki first in research in Computer Science

Aristotle University was ranked first among all Greek Universities in the world ranking, announced by Guide2Research on August 25, 2020, for the impact of the research work of its staff in Computer Science. More specifically, the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki was ranked 189th in the list of the best universities in the world, while the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) was ranked a little lower at 195th and the Kapodistrian University of Athens at 210th. This ranking is based on objectively measurable criteria for the impact of research publications (h-index) in the field of Computer Science and Electronics, after examining the profile of more than 6000 researchers, recorded in the DBLP database. It is noted that in an earlier ranking of Guide2Research about the 37 leading scientists of Computer Science in Greek Universities and research institutes, the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki had topped the list with 6 professors, of which 4 from the Department of Informatics.
